    TRIFECTA: LE2 Engine - Intake Manifold

      We have an extra LE2 (Gen2 Cruze) engine we're tearing down, and the first part we took off is the intake manifold. It's a relatively open plenum design, though what's fascinating is that GM relocated the throttle body centrally as opposed to a more "log style" the Gen1 engine used.

    Also, note there appears to be an internal PCV system like the Gen1, and also this intake manifold has a LOT of oil in it (this engine has less than 1000 miles on it). It makes us wonder if the oil ingestion has to do with the piston problems the LE2 has? Could a catch can help?

    Wow. Thanks for for showing us the le2 manifold. When I was going through my intake, I thought the part that goes in the intake near the turbo was some sort of catch can be ause when I took it off it had a bunch of oil residue and other crud in it.
